Wash care symbols are signs that need to be included on the care label of your garments or home furnishing products. These symbols may seem complicated at first but once you get to know the basics you realize that they are self-explanatory.
It's important to note that many countries have mandatory standards for Laundry care label instructions and you will need to follow your country guidelines to create your care label.

In generale, i simboli di lavaggio includono una serie di piccole icone che spiegano le istruzioni per il lavaggio, l'asciugatura, la stiratura, la pulizia a secco e il candeggio.

SIMBOLI DI LAVAGGIO
Ecco alcuni dei simboli di lavaggio più comuni e fondamentali:
1) SECCHIO PIENO D'ACQUA
Indica un normale lavaggio in lavatrice o a mano in cui il capo può essere lavato a qualsiasi temperatura con detersivo o sapone.
2) BUCKET FILLED WITH WATER AND TEMPERATURE
Il 30°C specifica la temperatura massima consigliata per il lavaggio del capo.
3) SIMBOLO DELLA MANO DENTRO IL SECCHIO
Indica che dovresti lavare l'articolo a mano con un detersivo delicato e acqua.
4) SECCHIO BARRATO
You shouldn’t machine wash the garment.
SIMBOLI DI STIRATURA
Ecco alcuni simboli di stiratura di base e il loro significato:
1) EMPTY IRON
Puoi stirare a qualsiasi temperatura, con o senza vapore.
2) IRON WITH ONE DOT
Un ferro con un punto indica una temperatura bassa, 110°C o 230°F, con o senza vapore.
3) FERRO CON DUE PUNTI
Due punti all'interno del ferro indicano una temperatura media, 150°C o 300°F, con o senza vapore.
4) FERRO CON TRE PUNTI
Tre punti all'interno del ferro indicano una temperatura alta, 200°C o 390°F, con o senza vapore.
5) FERRO BARRATO
Non stirare!
SIMBOLI DI ASCIUGATURA
Drying is a very important part of clothing care. The heat from the dryer can cause garments to fade. So, it is important to clearly specify the drying symbols on your care labels. A square symbol indicates the drying method for the item be it hand dry or tumble dry.
1) QUADRATO CON CERCHIO
Indica l'asciugatura normale in asciugatrice.
2) QUADRATO BARRATO CON CERCHIO
Non asciugare in asciugatrice.
3) QUADRATO CON CERCHIO E PUNTO/I
This means that a machine dryer must be used at a low heat setting. Other varions may include two or three dots. Two dots suggests using a machine dryer up to a medium setting, and Three dots is up to a high setting.

SIMBOLI DI CANDEGGIO
The triangle symbol indicates whether a garment can be cleaned using bleach. Here’s how to read bleaching symbols:
1) UN TRIANGOLO
Indica che il candeggio del capo è consentito
2) TRIANGOLO BARRATO
This means that the garment is not colour safe, or the material is unable to hold up to bleach. Do not bleach the garment.
3) TRIANGOLO CON LINEE DIAGONALI
Indica di utilizzare solo candeggina non al cloro, sicura per i colori.
