Custom Woven Patches

Custom woven patches are fabric badges created using high-density weaving technology, where coloured threads are interlaced at a microscopic level to reproduce logos, text and artwork with exceptional precision. Unlike embroidered patches which build up texture through layered stitching, woven patches have a smooth, flat surface that allows for finer detail, smaller text and more complex multi-colour designs.

The key differences are surface texture, detail capability and aesthetic:

• Woven patches: Flat, smooth surface — ideal for fine detail, small text, complex designs and a modern minimal look. Thinner and lighter than embroidered patches
• Embroidered patches: Raised, three-dimensional texture — ideal for bold logos and designs that benefit from tactile depth and a classic, artisanal character

If your design has text smaller than 4mm, gradients or intricate linework, woven patches will reproduce it more accurately than embroidery.

Our custom woven patches are available with three backing options:

• Sew-on: Stitched directly onto the garment — the most durable and permanent option
• Iron-on: Heat-activated adhesive for quick application without sewing — suitable for most cotton, denim and polyester fabrics
• Velcro: Hook-and-loop backing for removable and interchangeable applications — popular for uniforms, bags and tactical gear

Woven patches are available with two edge finishing styles:

• Merrowed border: A stitched thread border sewn around the perimeter — adds a classic framed look and reinforces the patch edge
• Laser cut (hot cut): A clean, precision-cut edge with no stitched border — ideal for custom shapes, complex outlines and a modern, seamless aesthetic

Both options are available in any colour and shape, including custom die-cut outlines following your logo.

Woven patches support up to 12 thread colours per design — significantly more than most embroidered patches. This makes them ideal for:

• Complex multi-colour logos
• Photographic or gradient-style artwork
• Detailed illustrations with fine colour transitions

Yes — woven patches are highly durable and wash-resistant. Our OEKO-TEX certified yarns are:

• Colourfast and fade-resistant through repeated washing
• Machine washable at up to 60°C
• Safe for tumble drying at medium heat
• Resistant to fraying due to their tightly woven structure

For iron-on woven patches, we recommend reinforcing with border stitching on high-wear applications.

Custom woven patches are available in virtually any size and shape:

• Size range: Typically 2cm to 20cm — larger formats available on request
• Standard shapes: Rectangle, circle, oval, shield, badge, pennant
• Custom die-cut: Any outline following your logo or artwork at no additional charge

Woven patches are particularly well suited to irregular and complex shapes due to their flat, lightweight profile and clean laser-cut edge option.

For the best reproduction quality we recommend submitting vector artwork:

• Vector (preferred): AI, EPS, PDF, SVG
• Raster: PNG or JPG at 300 DPI or higher
