Custom Leather Patches

Custom leather patches are brand labels made from genuine full-grain leather, finished with debossing, embossing or laser etching to reproduce logos, text and artwork with depth and precision. Unlike woven or printed patches, real leather patches develop a unique patina over time, adding character and authenticity that makes each garment feel individually crafted.

Our custom leather patches are available with three finishing techniques:

• Debossing: The design is pressed into the leather surface creating a recessed impression — the most classic and widely used leather patch finish
• Embossing: The design is raised above the leather surface creating a three-dimensional relief — adds tactile depth and a premium sculptural quality
• Laser etching: A laser burns the design into the leather surface with extreme precision — ideal for fine detail, small text and complex artwork that debossing cannot accurately reproduce

Our genuine leather patches are available with three attachment methods:

• Sew-on: Stitched directly onto the garment — the most durable and traditional method, preferred for denim, workwear and outerwear
• Rivet: Secured with metal rivets through pre-punched holes — the classic attachment for premium denim and leather goods
• Heat-seal backing: Industrial adhesive for iron-on application — suitable for lighter fabric applications where sewing is not practical

Our leather patches are available in a range of natural and treated leather colours:

• Natural tan and light brown
• Medium and dark brown
• Black
• Cognac and whisky tones
• Custom dyed colours on request

All leathers are full-grain, meaning the natural surface grain and texture are preserved — no sanding or correction. This gives each patch a distinctive, authentic character that improves with wear.

Genuine leather patches are among the most durable branding options available. Full-grain leather is highly resistant to:

• Abrasion and surface wear
• Moisture and light rain when properly conditioned
• Fading — leather develops a richer patina rather than degrading with age

For washing, we recommend spot cleaning or dry cleaning for garments with leather patches. Machine washing at low temperatures is possible for sew-on patches but may accelerate patina development and slight stiffening of the leather.

The core differences are material, aging behaviour and sustainability profile:

• Genuine leather patches: Full-grain animal hide — develops a unique patina over time, unmatched tactile quality, preferred by premium and heritage brands
• Faux leather patches: Synthetic PU or recycled material — consistent colour and texture, vegan-friendly, more affordable at volume, does not patina

• Standard shapes: Rectangle, square, oval, shield — the most common formats for waistband and back-pocket placement
• Custom die-cut: Any outline following your logo or brand mark
• Size range: Typically 3cm to 15cm — larger formats available on request

Rectangular patches in the 5×3cm to 8×5cm range are the most popular for denim waistband placement. Custom shapes are available at no additional charge.

Yes. Our leather patches are made from sustainably sourced full-grain hides from tanneries with documented environmental and ethical sourcing standards. We work exclusively with suppliers who comply with international leather working group (LWG) guidelines. If sustainability is a core brand value, our faux leather patches made from recycled PU materials are also available as a fully vegan alternative.
